PCBS: A decrease in Registered Exports and Imports in Goods in January

RAMALLAH-(BNEWS) - A decrease in registered exports and imports in goods in January 2024, in comparison to January 2023, according to a report by Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

Exports in Goods

Exports decreased in January, 2024 by 15% compared to January, 2023 and reached USD 130.8 Million.

Exports to Israel decreased in January, 2024 by 21% compared to January, 2023 and it represented 80% of total exports in January, 2024.

On the other hand, exports to other countries increased by 22% during the same period compared to January, 2023.

Imports in Goods

Imports decreased in January, 2024 by 34% compared to January, 2023 and reached USD 485.7 Million.

Imports from Israel decreased by 30% in January, 2024 compared to January, 2023 and it represented 62% of total imports in January, 2024.

At the same time, imports from other countries decreased by 39% compared to January, 2023.

Trade Balance on Registered Goods

The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed a decrease in trade deficit by 39% in January, 2024 compared to January, 2023 and reached USD 354.9 Million.
